Yep, I think this is exactly it. In fact, he says quite clearly that this doesn't affect him so he doesn't see why it's worth talking about. Almost everybody, who thinks this issue doesn't matter is unaffected by, and hasn't thought about, the women it affects. This is also true of the women who are quite happy to talk over female athletes and inmates and rape victims and disabled women in need of intimate care, because these issues don't affect them personally.
But again, this begs the question, why weigh in at all if you think it doesn't matter?
